Frans Nicholas Architects were established 18 years ago. We have built up significant experience in working on a wide range of building types including private houses and extensions, social housing, commercial buildings, museums, civic buildings and mixed use developments. Formally qualified and accredited in building conservation work, we specialise in the skilled and knowledge-based repair or improvement of historic buildings and their environments, with extensive experience of working on churches, chapels, and maritime buildings. At the same time, we are able to create cutting-edge modern design, or where appropriate, extend buildings with practical and sustainable new construction that is sensitive to its setting.
The practice has a strong consultancy dimension, and, working for major institutions or local authorities, has built up a reputation for producing high quality studies and reports for publication on historic sites, conservation areas, and town centre environments.
